My thoughts are slowly ebbing from my head and flowing from my fingers. Mainly, because I want to share an idea and shape it into something that resonates. I don’t want to be illusory about this text so I won’t be. Here it is – this realm is absurd!! The keynote of the movie, Prometheus, (What is the meaning of life?) reawakened that idea. It pushed me to reexamine Absurdism.
Below are some key topics of Absurdism flavored with my own absurdity.
Elusion
Cloaked in religion. Masked with philosophy. Hidden behind education. Whatever method individuals try to shield themselves with will inevitably fail. Because they are all absurd. Understand this plane is absurd and takes solace in it.
God
If individuals judge the existence of a spiritual deity based on the fables and tall tales of human religion, they have not awakened to spark that is within them.
Personal Meaning
The meaning of life is subjective. When a person provides the masses with a supposed meaning of life, subjugation is often the knife behind the explanation.
Freedom
Fucking, why ask why? Listen to friends, lovers, family – most justify/rationalize their troubles, including everything from religion, philosophy, everyday woes, acceptance, and rejection. Free yourself- and understand this realm is greatly flawed and so is everyone of its inhabitants.
Hope
Pandora’s Box reveals what hope really is – the last evil to come out of the box. Fuck hope and live every fleeting moment to the fullest.
Integrity
The absurdist is not guided by morality, but rather, by his or her own integrity. Yes, individuals can be amoral without being immoral.
It cannot be denied that this realm is absurd. Just watch and listen to your surroundings. Seek and examine. It is in plain sight. Those who accept the absurd and work within it can thrive and for those who don’t will get the miserable experience they want. (The Absurdist will truly understand the previous statement.)
